UMASS Integrated Design Building

We furnished and installed over 18,250 square feet of Kawneer curtain wall, including 147 punched openings. Two of the expanses span three stories and incorporate View, Inc.’s “Dynamic Glass,” a smart glass with an electrochromic coating that can automatically change tint in response to various environmental factors. We also furnished and installed two skylights in the roof courtyard, supplied by Wasco Skylights and featuring a unique geometric design aesthetic. We enclosed the building in 26,400 square feet of aluminum panels, supplied by Dri-Design and featuring a proprietary copper anodized finish applied by Linetec. The panels wrap the entire building and accent every section including the main entrance and roof courtyard. We received an Excellence In Construction Award in the Exteriors category from the Associated Builders And Contractors, Massachusetts Chapter for our contributions to the project.
