How long have you been with the company? When did you start at R&R and in what position?
The first time I started was in 1979 and worked in the field as a laborer for 4 years. Then I was hired back in 1998 to work in the shop. 

What’s your current position?
I am the company Vice President.

Have you had multiple jobs in the company? What have they been?
Field laborer, Shop Fabricator, Risk Manager and Safety Officer, Administrative Assistant, Project Manager, President, Vice President.

What brought you to R&R Window?
Family, the founders of the company (my brother and brother-in-law) asked me to help on weekends when I was a senior in high school.

What keeps you at R&R Window?
Originally it was the challenge of doing something very few women were doing at the time. Now it is the people. So many great people work here and care about what they do every day. We work together to create something to be proud of.

What’s a typical day like for you?
I spend my day in communication, problem solving and strategizing.

How do you make your work day fun?
Keep a positive attitude and never miss the opportunity to make someone laugh.

What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working?
Spending time with family, cooking, gardening, puttering around the house, planning vacations and finding new adventures.

What made you decide a career in the trades was for you?
Construction provided an opportunity to be independent right out of school. That and the motivation to contribute in a meaningful way to my family’s business.

What do you think are the best skills you bring to your job?
I’m a good communicator, hard worker, common-sense thinker and I have the ability to stay optimistic.

How do you want people to remember you?
That my intentions are good, and my actions stand behind them.

When you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a teacher.

What of your accomplishments are you most proud of?
That I gained the confidence to accept unlikely challenges and to never waste time thinking that I couldn’t do something.
